50s furniture - vintage light and mid century furniture

50s furniture selection dedicated to vintage light and mid century furniture: mid century sideboard, credenza sideboard, vintage desk, secretaire desk, scandinavian armchair, retro chair and low table with compass legs in oak, beech or teak, characteristic of early modernist design and the post-war Reconstruction.

In France, the decade was shaped by Reconstruction architects and modernist decorators such as Le Corbusier, Jacques Adnet, Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand and René Gabriel. Their influence can be seen in a new generation of designers such as Marcel Gascoin, Pierre Guariche and the Atelier de Recherche Plastique, Joseph-André Motte and Pierre Paulin, who helped renew the forms and uses of 1950s furniture.

In Denmark, Finn Juhl paved the way for organic design, while Arne Jacobsen championed a more functionalist approach to modern furniture. Hans J.
