Finn Juhl and the Organic Approach to Danish Furniture

NV-56 dining table designed by Finn Juhl in the 1950s and manufactured by cabinetmaker Niels Vodder in Copenhagen. Crafted from teak, this Danish table features a circular top bordered by a subtly raised apron and rests on four subtly curved legs, characteristic of Finn Juhl’s design vocabulary.

The subtly raised apron extends beneath the top, naturally guiding the hand, while the fluid lines of the legs invite touch and enhance the furniture’s tactile dimension. Its balanced proportions reflect an approach designed for both daily use and visual and ergonomic quality. A piece from one of the most prestigious Danish cabinetmaking workshops of the mid-20th century.

The model is extensible thanks to two leaves, allowing the round table to transform into a large oval table. This vintage edition exhibits a beautiful teak patina and traces of use consistent with its age. The structure maintains excellent stability, and the extension mechanism functions perfectly.
