DS-2011/03 sofa in cognac leather by de Sede

Produced by de Sede from the 1980s onwards, the DS-2011 model illustrates the evolution of Swiss lounge furniture towards more compact, fluid lines while retaining the maker’s signature build quality. The model shown here is the DS-2011/03 version, a 3-seater configuration with a restrained, balanced presence and particularly enveloping comfort.

The DS-2011/03 stands out for its low lines, relatively compact proportions, and the quality of its thick leather, which develops a warm, nuanced patina over time. The cognac/caramel leather now shows natural variations in tone that enhance the model’s vintage character.

Described today by de Sede as an “iconic sculpture” with a discreet, elegant presence, the DS-2011 was designed to fit equally well in compact spaces as in more open settings. Its design favours a fluid aesthetic paired with comfort built to last for everyday use.

The leather was cleaned and then rehydrated with balm to preserve its suppleness and the richness of its original patina. The sofa remains in very good overall condition, with visible wear on one armrest and on the seat.
