Produced by de Sede Switzerland in the 1970s, the DS-44 model exemplifies the Swiss manufacturer’s approach to lounge comfort and thick leather craftsmanship. This 2-seater version in cognac buffalo leather features compact proportions combined with a particularly comfortable seat.

The DS-44 is notably distinguished by its extendable seating system, allowing the seat depth to be increased to approximately 70 cm by simply sliding the sofa forward. This design enhances the model’s modular and enveloping character while retaining the low lines characteristic of de Sede’s vintage productions.

The cognac buffalo leather exhibits a beautiful surface quality and a warm patina developed over time. Its supple and deeply grained texture is sometimes referred to as “elephant skin” by de Sede enthusiasts, a sought-after characteristic in certain vintage productions from the Swiss manufacturer.

The leather has been cleaned and nourished with balm by our restorer to preserve its suppleness and the richness of its natural shades.

This sofa comes from its first owner and remains in remarkably good condition with only a few very slight, normal signs of use.
