These leaf-shaped Murano sconces feature a stylized plant motif, crafted in glass with a particularly pronounced volumetric design.
Murano Sconces: Glass Sculpted to Serve Light
The curve of the leaves is very pronounced, their surface structured by veins that organize the diffusion of light. This construction gives the glass an almost sculptural presence, far from a simple applied decorative element.
The slightly textured inner surface, enriched with crystals, acts as an active surface: light is captured, fragmented, then diffused as sparkling glimmers through the thickness of the glass.
The brass mounting, intentionally discreet, serves merely as a support, allowing the glass material to be the focal point. It also introduces a subtle and warm contrast when the sconces are unlit. The ensemble is characteristic of Italian productions from the 1970s, where lighting became a decorative object in its own right.
