- These guardians were erected inside the village, to protect the community, in this case probably Ngadju or Ot Danum.
- Very good condition, with a beautiful gray patina and some vestiges of polychromy. Few wear marks or accidents (minor / normal wear).
- Provenance: Former collection of Claude de Marteau.

Dayak Hampatong Ancestral Figure, Laboratory Dating
Radiocarbon testing indicates an age of 194 ± 21 BP. Calibration (95.4% probability) reveals several chronological ranges, the primary one being between 1735 and 1806 AD (approx. 66%), along with a secondary probability around the 20th century (approx. 22%). All data are consistent with an 18th-century dating, most likely between 1735 and 1806.
