Vintage chairs, armchairs, and sofas for furnishing one’s home
Around a table, in a living room, behind a desk, or at a kitchen island, choosing a seat begins first with its use. Vintage Addict selects vintage chairs, vintage armchairs, sofas and daybeds, benches, slipper chairs, and stools. Seating chosen for its comfort, its design, and the quality of its manufacture, but above all to continue being used in daily life.
For a dining room, one will often seek a set of wooden chairs, such as teak, rosewood, oak,… or conversely metal chairs whose lighter structure brings rhythm around a dining table. Danish chairs naturally occupy an important place in our selection, alongside French, Italian, and American creations.
In the living room, expectations shift: one seeks more the comfort, the material, and the presence of the piece. Patinated leather armchair, fabric armchair, low slipper chair, pair of armchairs, bench, or large vintage sofa can be arranged around a coffee table and give a very different personality to the room. A beautiful aged leather can be preserved when it contributes to the character of the seat, while tired upholstery can be entirely reimagined in our upholstery and restoration workshop with a new covering, notably from our selection of Kvadrat fabrics.
Stools respond to yet other ways of furnishing one’s home: around a kitchen island, in front of a bar, at a high table, in an office or a workshop. Fixed, swivel, or height-adjustable, they often allow one to introduce a design seat into a reduced space without weighing it down.
The selection traverses several ways of inhabiting the twentieth century: the taut lines and warm woods of Scandinavian furniture from the 1950s, the experimentation with forms, metal, and new materials in the 1960s, then the lower, enveloping, or modular armchairs and sofas of the 1970s. A teak chair can bring a light and chic presence around a table, while a lounge chair or sofa favors comfort more and occupies the space more decisively.
For furnishing one’s home, the right seat depends as much on the available space as on the way one wishes to live the room: receiving around a large table, creating a reading nook, composing a welcoming living room, furnishing an office, or simply adding occasional seating. It is this balance between comfort, design, proportions, materials, and character that allows these pieces to remain current without yielding to passing trends.
Chairs, armchairs, and sofas can be delivered to Paris and throughout France, as well as to Belgium and the rest of Europe.
