Pair of modernist wooden armchairs, 1950s
This pair of 1950s modernist armchairs features a clean-lined wooden frame set on slightly splayed legs that visually lighten the whole. The side uprights naturally extend into the armrests, creating a simple, coherent geometry typical of furniture from this period. The generously padded seat and back offer firm, stable comfort, while the contrast between wood and textile highlights the clarity of the design.
The craftsmanship of the frame highlights the slender sections: tapered legs, minimalist structure, readable joinery, and balanced proportions. The backrest angle, combined with the seat depth, ensures a comfortable posture without weighing down the silhouette. This pair fits easily into a modernist, Scandinavian, or more eclectic interior thanks to its understated, structured presence.
The reupholstery was carried out in Kvadrat fabric, chosen for the quality of its weave and its durability over time. Carefully restored, these armchairs retain the quality of the original workmanship while offering a clean, long-lasting finish.
