Cees Braakman (1917–1995) is one of the most important designers in 20th-century Dutch design. After a trip to the USA, primarily to observe the work of designers Charles & Ray Eames, he became the artistic director and central figure at Pastoe, helping to define a modernist aesthetic based on clear lines, functionality, and high manufacturing standards.
Today, some furniture pieces by Cees Braakman — sideboards, desks, or credenzas — are actively sought after by collectors and mid-century design enthusiasts.
