Klaus Hempel is a designer active in Germany during the 1960s and 1970s, associated with the development of European modernist lighting. His work reflects a formal exploration characteristic of the era, blending clean lines, industrial materials, and indirect lighting effects.

He notably collaborated with Kaiser Leuchten, a German manufacturer renowned for the quality of its productions and its role in disseminating post-war contemporary design.
