Modular wall shelving unit “Royal System” composed of wooden wall uprights and various suspended teak elements, designed by Poul Cadovius. This iconic Danish design system is based on a simple, innovative principle for its time: freeing up floor space in favour of a lighter, more flexible wall-mounted layout.

All modules, backs and shelves have been carefully restored by our restorer. The set is in very good condition, with only rare signs of normal wear.

With its adjustable shelves, suspended cabinets and various modules, the Royal System lets you freely create configurations suited to storage, libraries or home offices. This modularity largely explains the model’s success in Scandinavian interiors from the 1950s to the 1970s.

The teak brings a warm presence characteristic of Danish furniture from this period. The vertical uprights and suspended shelves create a light, graphic composition while retaining substantial storage capacity.

Today, the Royal System is among the most sought-after vintage wall systems in Scandinavian design, prized for both its functional qualities and the balance of its proportions.
