A frequent confusion with Ingo Maurer’s “Spring” lamp
This model is sometimes confused with the famous “Spirale” lamp, also known as “Spring”, designed by Ingo Maurer for Design M. While both creations are based on a similar visual principle, featuring a spiraled metal structure, they present notable differences in their design and proportions.
The lamp published by Honsel Leuchten is distinguished by a more compact structure, with a spring featuring a more limited number of rings, as well as a denser and more compact design.
The model designed by Ingo Maurer, on the other hand, presents a more slender structure. The junction with the slightly flattened opaline glass adopts a chalice-like form, contributing to a more airy and open silhouette.
This model appears in a period advertisement preserved in our archives.
