Cinna, Ligne Roset, and the Sandra sofa set

Created in 1975 under the impetus of Michel Roset, Cinna emerged as a freer, more experimental branch within Ligne Roset. While Ligne Roset was already developing a strong identity in French contemporary furniture, Cinna allowed the publisher to explore more forward-looking forms, more closely aligned with the changing lifestyles of the 1970s.

In this context, Cinna supported the emergence of lower, more modular furniture focused on everyday comfort. This approach is reflected in the Sandra model, a sofa designed by Annie Hieronimus, where the idea of an informal living room becomes central.

Trained at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Annie Hieronimus developed an approach centered on use, volume, and ergonomics. The Sandra sofa set illustrates this search for balance between comfort, modularity, and restraint, characteristic of 1970s French design.

This “Sandra” sofa set is in very good overall condition and shows light wear from use. There is a slight mark on one side of a loose cushion as well as on the ottoman (see photos).

The set has benefited from a thorough, repeated professional cleaning, following the same conservation standards applied to 1970s vintage Ligne Roset and Cinna sofas.
