Scandinavian Teak Sideboard with Two Doors – 1960s
This 1960s teak sideboard reflects the hallmarks of Scandinavian-inspired furniture: a horizontal silhouette, clean lines, and careful attention to proportions and the natural tones of the wood.

Clean, understated lines, a perfectly balanced front, and woodwork that showcases the natural elegance of teak.
The front features two lockable doors separated by a fixed central upright. Three drawers complete the storage space, the first of which also locks. This balanced composition highlights the grain of the teak and its warm tones. This rhythm is reinforced by the aligned, organically shaped handles, which add a touch of softness to the otherwise geometric front.
A well-organized storage piece
Behind the two doors, a fixed interior shelf, slightly recessed, helps divide the storage space. It can hold dishware, linens, or various everyday items.
This interior layout, combined with the understated front, illustrates the functional approach of 1960s design furniture, a period during which European manufacturers widely adopted the aesthetic principles of Nordic design.
Teak in 1960s Scandinavian furniture
Widely used in furniture-making of this period, teak is prized for the richness of its grain, its amber tones, and its good stability. Its naturally warm appearance contributes to the balance of these pieces, whose decoration relies above all on the design of the volumes and the quality of the materials.
This sideboard joins our selection of vintage sideboards, which brings together European storage furniture from the 1950s to the 1970s. An alternative 1960s teak sideboard model, slightly larger in size and fitted with three doors and three drawers, is also available in our catalogue.
