The deu Superb pair of bronze guardian lions, of Nepalese origin, symbolizing spiritual protection and divine power. These Simha, emblematic figures of the Tantric Buddhist tradition, are distinguished by their majestic posture and rich ornamentation. Their powerful bodies and dynamic postures embody physical strength and spiritual vigilance.
Around their necks, a finely sculpted chain holds a bell, a symbol of vigilance and purification, recalling their role as guardians of sacred places and protectors against negative energies. Their delicately chiseled manes bear witness to the mastery of Nepalese craftsmanship. The most striking detail is the button-shaped protuberance or sacred jewel on the top of their heads, symbolizing spiritual enlightenment and the link with Cintamani, the wish-fulfilling jewel.
These lions, often placed in pairs to protect the entrances to temples or shrines, also embody universal balance and harmony. Every detail, from their powerful paws to the ornamentation on their tails, reflects their sacred function and decorative refinement, making this pair both a spiritual and artistic work of art, ideal for lovers of ancient Buddhist art.
