Peill & Putzler mushroom lamp in mottled glass, 1970s

This Peill & Putzler table lamp from the late 1970s stands out for its mushroom silhouette, composed of a wide hemispherical dome resting on a cylindrical base. Both elements are made of mottled glass with orange, amber, and green inclusions, their colors blending into an irregular pattern reminiscent of certain creations by Murano glassmakers.

La lampe champignon est équipée de deux ampoules, une dans le pied, l’autre sous son dôme.

Two bulbs light up the base and dome simultaneously, revealing the shades of the colored glass along the full height of the lamp. This dual light source highlights its rounded volumes and casts a warm glow, ideal for a convivial atmosphere. Switched off, the lamp retains its full decorative presence thanks to the richness of its glass and its generous proportions.

Peill & Putzler: colored glass shapes the light

In the 1970s, the Peill & Putzler manufacture developed a significant line of glass lighting, exploring effects of color, transparency, and light diffusion.

Une palette de couleurs en camaïeu, mêlant des nuances d’orangé, d’ambre et de vert, qui prennent toute leur profondeur lorsque la lampe est allumée.

This mushroom lamp matches the pair of Fuga wall lights by Peill & Putzler, also available on our site. It features the same mottled glass with multicolored inclusions, offering the possibility of creating a harmonious echo between several light sources within a single room.

This vintage table lamp will naturally find its place on a sideboard, a console, or a low cabinet, where its wide dome and warm tones add as much character as light.
