The 2544 sideboard, a new vision for the executive office
Designed by Florence Knoll in 1961 for Knoll International, this sideboard accompanied a true revolution in workspace layout. By completely rethinking the executive office, Florence Knoll replaced the imposing traditional desk with a more welcoming table and envisioned the Model 2544 as an elegant low storage unit, perfectly integrated into the interior architecture. This approach, directly inspired by her training under Mies van der Rohe, remains one of the signatures of 20th-century American design.

Designed to be seen from all angles, Florence Knoll’s 2544 sideboard fits as well in a living room as in the middle of a living space or an office.
A piece designed to be seen from all angles
Unlike many vintage sideboards, the Model 2544 features a particularly meticulous finish on its back. The sides, back, doors, and drawers are made of the same veneer, allowing this designer sideboard to be placed against a wall or in the center of a room. This quality of execution allows for multiple uses: as a sideboard in a living room for a TV, a storage sideboard in a dining room, an office console, a room divider, or even bedroom furniture for a soothing minimalist atmosphere.
A benchmark of Knoll furniture
More than sixty years after its creation, the 2544 sideboard is still in the Knoll catalog, proof of its timeless design. The polished aluminum handles, metal base, and rigorous proportions testify to the care given to every detail. Both functional and architectural, this Florence Knoll creation remains one of the most representative pieces of 1960s design furniture, naturally finding its place today in a contemporary living room, office, or bedroom.
