C18 blond oak dining table by Børge Mogensen
Large dining table, model C18, designed by Børge Mogensen in 1947 and published in the early 1960s by C. M. Madsen. Crafted in golden blond oak, it features the clean, functional lines that made the designer one of the leading figures of 20th-century Danish design, alongside Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, and Finn Juhl.
The rectangular top rests on a solid oak frame with balanced proportions, highlighting the wood’s natural warmth and the quality of its craftsmanship. The blond oak grain and its slightly golden patina enhance its warm, timeless character.
This table comes from its first owner and is in remarkable condition. It has nonetheless been carefully cleaned, finely sanded, then oiled to revive the wood’s natural beauty. The top now reveals a silky grain and a particularly attractive luminous figuring.
The C18 model is among Børge Mogensen’s most iconic designs, valued for his ability to create simple, sturdy furniture made for everyday use. This table fits just as well in a Scandinavian interior as in a more contemporary or minimalist setting.
An iconic Danish design dining table from the 1950s and 1960s, sought after for the restraint of its lines and the lasting quality of its materials.
