Designed in 1956, the Lounge Chair with Ottoman by Charles & Ray Eames reflects a desire to reinterpret the traditional club chair using modern industrial techniques. The use of molded wood, already explored by the Eameses in their previous creations, allows for particularly ergonomic curved forms.

This model is distinguished by its balance between a rigorous structure and enveloping comfort. The combination of wood and leather creates a contrast characteristic of post-war American design, where functionality and aesthetics are closely linked.

Distributed in Europe by Vitra, the Lounge Chair quickly established itself as a benchmark of 20th-century furniture, both in private interiors and public spaces.
