Oswald Vermaercke and V-Form
Renowned for the use of carefully selected teak and rosewood veneers, Vermaercke designed sideboards, tables, and chairs with a minimalist and sophisticated modernist design. The Paola collection (1959), a tribute to the Belgian queen, and the Astrid collection (1962) are his best-known works. Oswald Vermaercke was also greatly inspired by the highly influential Danish design of his time, with some of his drawer fronts reminiscent of those by designer Arne Vodder.
