Ansager Møbler: Danish tradition and furniture craftsmanship.
This round teak table with two leaves is part of a manufacturing tradition that combines simplicity and sturdiness. It features a smooth-sliding steel runner system, built to support the weight of the leaves for years to come. From a careful first owner, it boasts an almost insolent freshness, standing up to time with confidence.
Founded in 1922, Ansager Møbler is part of Danish furniture history as a family workshop renowned for the quality of its woodworking. Without relying on famous designers, production was based on in-house know-how, with craftsmen and owners developing models in step with market expectations.
The company particularly distinguished itself between the 1950s and 1970s, driven by the international rise of Scandinavian design. Its tables and dining sets, often in teak, stand out for their well-judged proportions and functionality, in an approach that is both understated and durable.
The model nomenclature, identifiable by the prefix AM followed by a number, reflects a structured production. Despite operating over several generations, the company declined from the late 1970s, before ceasing operations permanently in 2013. The brand has since been revived for commercial purposes, extending the name without preserving its original standards.
