Holmegaard, two centuries of excellence in Danish blown glass
Founded in Denmark in 1825, Holmegaard is today one of the most prestigious glass manufacturers in Scandinavia. Initially specialized in the production of green glass bottles, the glassworks quickly shifted its production toward tableware before becoming an essential reference in blown glass and Danish design, whose reputation rivals glass from the workshops of Murano.

Made from high-quality blown glass, this shade is cased with a layer of white glass that softens the light while revealing the depth and subtle nuances of the green glass.
Throughout the 20th century, Holmegaard surrounded itself with designers who contributed to the manufacturer’s international renown. Among them was Michael Bang (1944-2002), who joined the company in the 1960s. He developed a sober and timeless style, marked by clean lines and perfect mastery of light effects, giving rise to numerous lighting fixtures, vintage pendant lights, and glass objects now sought after by decorators and architects.
The P&T model perfectly illustrates this approach. Made from blown glass, this pendant light combines purity of form with soft, even light, characteristic of Holmegaard’s finest creations. More than fifty years after its creation, it remains a reference in Scandinavian design from the 1970s and integrates equally well into a contemporary interior or Mid-Century decor.
The name P&T refers to the Post- og Telegrafvæsenet, the Danish Post and Telecommunications administration. This model was originally developed to equip the buildings of this institution, from which it retains its sober, functional, and timeless aesthetic.
