The Postmodern Aesthetic of the 1980s
This large brass mirror perfectly embodies the stylistic transition of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Breaking away from rigid minimalism, postmodern design reintroduced assertive geometry, the interplay of lines, and the elegance of materials. With its delicate frame of slender brass strips and two upper tiers of solid brass, this wall-mounted piece aligns with the geometric creations of the late modernist movement and the chic spirit of the Hollywood Regency style. Its asymmetrical lines and architectural structure make it a strong statement piece, ideal for structuring the space above a Scandinavian teak sideboard or for adding character to a contemporary entryway.
Restoration and Authenticity by Our Workshop in Liège
Carefully selected by the gallery, this vintage mirror received particular attention in our in-house restoration workshop in Liège. To preserve its historical value and period authenticity, the original patina of the solid brass was intentionally retained and stabilized. Our work focused on a meticulous cleaning of the structure and securing the back fixings. A 20th-century piece selected for its authenticity, condition, and singularity.
