Minimalist floating cabinets for lightweight wall storage
These floating cabinets from the 1950s or 60s belong to a conception of storage furniture that favors visual lightness and use of the wall rather than floor space. Their compact format allows them to be used alone as small storage pieces or integrated into a larger wall composition. Through their mounting principle and minimal footprint, they can naturally accompany or replace a modular wall shelf. Their clean Scandinavian lines give pride of place to the wood grain, remarkably revealed by the restoration carried out in our workshop.
A compact format between wall cabinet and small sideboard
Their reduced volume also brings them close to certain small low sideboards: they offer comparable storage capacity while maintaining a much lighter presence thanks to their suspended installation. This type of furniture is particularly suited to spaces where one wishes to preserve a sense of openness at floor level.
They can thus be used in a living room to store documents, tableware, or small objects, in an office to complement a wall-mounted bookcase, or in an entryway as auxiliary storage. Their clean design integrates easily into a modernist or Scandinavian interior and allows them to be paired with other storage furniture from the 1950s and 60s without weighing down the composition.
When wall mounting is not feasible, the small sideboards presented below offer a storage alternative of comparable size, while resting directly on the floor.
