Walking Buddha’ Sukhothai in bronze
- Sakyamuni Buddha walking, his right leg slightly bent forward, his right hand raised in abhayamudra (gesture of absence of fear, peace and protection), the left extended along his body, wearing a diaphanous samghati held by a small belt, his face gives off a serene expression, the symmetry of his arched eyebrows accentuated by an aquiline nose, lips sketching a slight smile. Attention to detail is also evident in the curly headdress, theusnisha and the (adjoining) flame.
- This Sukhotai-style bronze Buddha image, very similar to the one also on display at the Marble Temple (Wat Benchamabophit), dates from the early 20th century.
