  • Michaël Thonet for Thonet Austria, suite of six chairs N°14 called“Bistrot” chairs.
  • Structure in solid beech wood bent with steam maintained by 6 screws and 2 steel nuts, full seat, period.
  • Publisher’s label + Hot stamping under the seat. Copies probably dating from the end of the 19th century.
  • H 91 CM X D 46 CM X W 42 CM.
  • H sitting 48 CM.
  • We chose to leave the woodwork as is so as not to alter the patina. All the chairs are in a remarkable state of preservation.
  • Created in 1859, the chair N°14 is at the origin of “‘objet-design”. This was the first chair sold in kit form, long before IKEA: 36 chairs in kit form fit in a 1 M3 box. Still published today under the reference “214” by Thonet, it has become a true icon of design history.
