Sideboards and buffets

Carefully restored in our workshop, our storage furniture retains its original materials while recovering its full functionality. Every sideboard, buffet and highboard undergoes a meticulous inspection of its veneers, joinery, hardware and finishes before being offered for sale. Our latest arrivals are securely packed and shipped, ready to find their place in a contemporary interior.

It is impossible to imagine vintage furniture without the sideboard. Far more than a simple storage unit, it defines an interior, immediately draws the eye and has been an essential part of everyday living for more than half a century.

The first large sideboards of the 1950s favoured clean lines and balanced proportions, inspired by post-war modernism. Throughout the 1960s, Scandinavian, Italian, French and Belgian designers created increasingly refined wooden sideboards, crafted in teak, rosewood, walnut and oak. The 1970s saw the emergence of more sculptural designs, in which volumes, handles and bases became genuine design features.
