Murano glass
Murano glass – Italian glassmaking of the 20th century
Murano glass refers to glass production originating from the island of Murano near Venice, renowned for its mastery of glass-blowing and shaping techniques. In the 20th century, this craftsmanship inspired the creation of lighting fixtures and decorative objects in which the treatment of material, color and volume plays a central role.
These productions were widely used by European lighting publishers featured in this selection, such as Kalmar, Doria, Peill & Putzler or Kaiser Leuchten, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s, for their aesthetic qualities and their luminous effect.
