Cosack Hinged and Swivel Table Lamp, Model 7614

• Articulated and swiveling table lamp by Cosack, model 7614, original edition from the 1970s.
  Fitted with three E27 sockets, it provides ample, even lighting, diffused by a thick white acrylic shade.
• The lamp is in very good condition. The lamp has remained with its first owner, preserved in its original packaging.
• 3 LED bulbs included.

Some time ago, we presented an articulated floor lamp produced by Swisslamps International, the famous Schwenkomat. This model also existed in a tall lamp version. The Cosack lamp, produced in the 1970s, is part of the same industrial context and corresponds to a rival model developed at the same time.

The two versions are based on a similar formal principle, but with design variations that reveal the specific choices made by each publisher:

• With Cosack, the junction between base and foot is straightforward, with no socket, while the Swisslamps version adopts a “tulip” transition.

• The surface of the Swisslamps tray is flat, while the Cosack version is slightly convex.

• The contour of the foot is rounded on Swisslamps and straight on Cosack.

These discreet but identifiable differences make it possible to pinpoint the precise location of each production run, and testify to the diversity of industrial interpretations of the same lamp type at the time.
