1960s vintage designer furniture and lighting

A 1960s selection dedicated to designer furniture and vintage lighting: sideboards, buffets, bookcases, desks, armchairs, chairs and coffee tables in teak, rosewood, chrome, molded plastic or fiberglass, emblematic of 1960s design with brighter, bolder colors.

The decade saw the large-scale spread of models designed by the American designer couple Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s, while the Dane Verner Panton established his molded-plastic seating such as the famous S Chair. The Italian Joe Colombo left his mark on the 1960s with his Elda armchair designed in 1963, while the Frenchman Pierre Paulin renewed the organic forms of furniture for Artifort with the Mushroom Model No. 560 armchair (1960) and the Tongue Chair Model No. 577 (1967).

The Space Age style, born from the space race of the late 1950s, gradually took hold in furniture and lighting. In 1964, Olivier Mourgue designed the Djinn chaise longue for Airborne, made with a tubular frame covered in a stretchy synthetic jersey textile.

The selection also includes vintage lighting in glass, opaline, aluminum or chromed metal: designer pendant lights, wall sconces, floor lamps and vintage lamps inspired by Italian, French, Belgian or Scandinavian design of the 1960s.
